Volunteer For Seed Collecting and Cleaning

TreeProject is now in its first year of venturing into native seed collecting thanks to the work of Steve Oke and his keen group of volunteers.

If you have ever sat under a beautiful eucalypt and wondered how it got to be there, seed collecting could be your thing. Join the group and get out of the city, breathe some fresh air, explore parts of Victoria, and learn more about the varied species of native plants and their colourful seeds.

Seed collecting occurs over the warmer months - usually between November and February. We head out on weekends, nominating a  meeting point and time  somewhere in regional Victoria . We rely on volunteers finding their own way there, but we try to orgnaise car pooling where we can, if you are interested in coming along, but don't have a lift, let us know.

After we collect the seed, we run a series of seed cleaning sessions to process what we collected - these are at the TreeProject office, usually on a weekday evening.

If you would like to get involved with either of these activities, give TreeProject a call or email us with your full name and details, and we will keep you updated on upcoming seed collecting events. If  you are planning to come along, please confirm with us before hand, so we know to expect you at the meeting point.
