Long Roots
When we see the small leaves, we often do not realise how extensive the root system is in the pot.
Long Roots
This one reached all the way to the bottom of the pot, even though only about one centimetre with one set of leaves protruded from the soil. When removing seedlings for transplanting be careful not to damage the roots. The soil should be loosened and care taken in removing the seedling, you will realise if the end of the root system is not coming away. If necessary empty the whole pot out onto a clean dinner plate to separate the seedlings out.
