When you have indicated you are willing to grow seedlings you will have noted your collection dates.
One growing kit is made up of seven foam fruit
boxes that contain the materials for growing around 350 seedlings.
1. A ‘Grower Report’. This tells you who you are growing
for, how many trees of each species you are growing for the landholder,
the contact details of your area coordinator
and who your fellow growers are.
2. Grower Instructions.
3. 7 packets of seeds with species name, sowing date and other instructions. One packet per box.
4. 7 white labels and a waterproof pencil for species identification. 1 label per box.
5. 7 boxes of potting mix.
6. A bag of forestry tubes (small black pots). 48 per box, 336 per kit.
7. 7 bags of gravel mulch. One bag per box.
8. 7 packets of slow release fertiliser, specially formulated for native plants. One packet per box.
One growing kit is designed to fit into a car boot. You may wish to invest in a boot liner as soil can spill a bit. Each box can be lifted by a normal fit
person, and may need to be shifted several times during the growing
season.
